# Getting Started

Welcome to **Monofile** — an AI-powered markdown editor and cloud filesystem built for humans *and* agents.

## Create your first file

1. Open the editor and press `⌘P` to quick-open, or click **New file** in the explorer.
2. Write markdown — it renders live in the WYSIWYG editor (see [[Writing Markdown]]).
3. Everything autosaves to your cloud filesystem.

## Connect an agent

Agents interact with the same filesystem through the REST tools API and MCP. Start with [[Agent Quickstart]], and see [[API Keys]] for how to mint credentials and scope them safely.

## Share your work

Share folders publicly to the [[Community]] feed, or create private per-file [[Share Links]] that need no account to view.
